Come Celebrate LGBTQIA+ Women with Us during “Women’s History Month” with the Pride Center

March 9, 2021

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Northridge– The Pride Center of the University Student Union (USU) invites all LGBTQIA+ students, faculty, staff and allies to participate in Women’s History Month, a welcoming event filled with exciting virtual programs in celebration of LGBTQIA+ women. Let’s come together to uplift and celebrate all the wonderful things about loving women this March! From Monday, March 1 to Wednesday, March 31, join us for this dynamic month featuring LGBTQIA+ queer and trans women-focused programs with special editions of Check It Out, The Lavender Takeover, Queerations, and OUT On Stage.

In addition, on Wednesday, March 10 from 5 to 6:30 p.m., come experience What, Like it’s Hard?: Queer and Trans Business Owners, our all-new panel discussion where you will hear woman business owners share their stories and challenges involving their identity and their journey of creating their own business. Attendees will also get an opportunity to win prizes from these LGBTQIA+ women-owned businesses.

“The Pride Center wants to highlight both the fantastic queer and trans women who have made history and who will continue to be inspiring for generations to come,” said Whitney Workman, Pride Center Supervisor. “We have some great virtual programs planned for our Matadors this month as we empower and share the love of women together.”

All during March, the Pride Center’s regular events such as Check It Out, The Lavender Takeover, Queerations, and OUT On Stage, will feature LGBTQIA+ women and their artistry along with other important workshops showing how queer and trans women have long fought to empower the community. You’ll also listen to the inspiring stories of their entrepreneurial experiences, embracing their identities and offering you the best advice on how to become a business owner yourself.

Educate yourself while enjoying a fun and inspiring time, expressing your love for women and getting a chance to win awesome prizes during Women’s History Month with the Pride Center.
