Younes and Soraya Nazarian Center for the Performing Arts (The Soraya) — 18111 Nordhoff St., Northridge Formed in 1970, the brass ensemble has played (with various lineups) many of the world's major music halls. The quintet's repertoire runs the gamut from the classical and baroque to jazz and standards, but this concert at CSUN draws heavily from the album, Christmas Time is Here. -- LAist

805 Brass in Concert

805 Brass is the third iteration of brass quintets started by Scott Weiss about 30 years ago. The musicians are Jim Labertew and Scott Weiss on trumpet, Randy Caplan and Richard Bunter on saxophone, and Stephen Hughes on Trombone. All of the musicians have studied music at the university level. Jim, Randy, and Richard all studied music at Cal State Northridge. 4 of the 5 members of 805 are members of the Ojai Pops Orchestra. -- Ventura County Reporter
