Journalism Annual Career Day - Thursday, March 9

March 8, 2017

Professional journalists and public relations practitioners will give advice and encouragement to students at the annual CSUN Journalism Career Day on Thursday, March 9 that features two panel discussions and a walk-in critique session.

The annual event kicks off with a 9:30 a.m. panel with Sean Browning, chief photographer at KNBC TV; Adolfo Flores, reporter at BuzzFeed News; Brittany Rodgers, associate at Allied Integrated Marketing; and Whitney Tancred, personal publicist at Sunshine Sachs & Associates public relations. The second panel, scheduled for 10:50 a.m., will feature Feven Kay, reporter for KERO-TV in Bakersfield; Kelli King, Abril Preciado-Ramirez, graduating senior who interned with CBS News in New York City last summer; and Alex Vejar, sports writer for the Antelope Valley Press. The back-to-back panels are in the USU Lake View Terrace Room and will be moderated by CSUN Journalism Prof. Ben Davis.

Meanwhile, from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., students can have their resume, portfolio and/or demo reel critiqued by a member of the CSUN Journalism Alumni Association in the USU Flintridge Room, across the hall from the Lake View Terrace Room. The critique session is on a walk-in basis. No appointments are necessary.
