Tenure Track Employees
A Tenure Track position = 15 units or 1.0 FTE in a particular semester, regardless of release time or reassigned time.
If you are performing any additional work beyond your normal appointment, you will be able to list it in the appropriate section of the Total Instructional Employment Disclosure form.
Tenure Track faculty cannot take on Stateside teaching appointments at other CSU campuses.
Lecturer Employees
Lecturers can teach in multiple departments on campus. Their employment in each department should be listed in units per semester.
At CSUN:
Lecturer appointments at CSUN must total no more than 15 units per semester. If a faculty member’s total units per semester is more than 15 units, please contact the Office of Faculty Affairs.
Across CSUs:
Lecturers can take on Stateside teaching appointments between different CSU campuses. The limit for a lecturer to teach between two or more CSU campuses in a semester is 18.75 units.
Non-Instructional Employees
A full-time non-instructional appointment is equal to 40 hours per week. Your appointment should be listed in the CSUN appointment section on the form. If any of your appointments are missing, you will be able to add them in another section.

- One reason you may not see the form may be that you have not been assigned the HR role yet. Please check with your supervisor to make sure you have been formally hired! Your supervisor can confirm with HR that the hiring process has been completed. (Please note, once the HR role is assigned, it will take an overnight process to complete, so check for the form link the next day.)

Lecture and non-instructional employees can add their department information to the form, if needed. The form will display an extensive pick list of department values to choose from. Once the department is chosen, you'll be required to input additional required information.
