Description
Approximately 32 million American adults live with some degree of visual impairment, comprising approximately 13% of the country's adult population. Meanwhile, more than 1 billion people worldwide live with moderate to severe vision impairment or blindness. As such, this broad demographic represents a substantial number of people who require accessible documents for a wide range of uses. This in turn translates to ever-present and growing accessibility requirements within a multitude of industries. Educational institutions must provide timely access to high-quality instructional materials in accessible formats. Similarly, corporations, insurance companies, healthcare organizations and more must also provide their internal and external audiences with documents and communications in accessible formats—not to mention adhere to strict legal accessibility requirements. To date, this has been extremely difficult for organizations to manage—often taking too long to convert documents, presenting challenges in dealing with multiple accessibility providers, and more. It is for this reason that T-Base, a global leader in accessibility, has developed a state-of-the-art Online Transcription Service Platform—a self-serve document transcription software that combines a high level of automation with guided user input to quickly, effectively and affordably transcribe documents into reflowed accessible Word (large print), accessible PDF and E-text formats.
