Many organizations are faced with making information and documents accessible when it is still a very new concept. They are dealing with meeting compliance requirements with which they are unfamiliar, and it is difficult to determine what tools to use, especially when they have different types of documents. Taking this on can be a daunting task for any organization, but it can be incredibly intimidating if they are not experts at document accessibility. However, it doesn’t have to be, especially when using the right tools.
This session will explore different tools for making automated and manual remediation seamless, from using a GUI-based interface for manually tagging a PDF to creating a rules-based template for automating the tagging of large volume transactional documents. We will show how these two tools work, demonstrating the two different approaches and how there can be instances where a combination of automation and manual processing could be most effective.
After remediation is complete, regardless of the tools being used, the final step in any remediation workflow should always be testing the output. We will also show the built-in validation tool to ensure the final PDF is WCAG and PDF/UA compliant.
