'Bows opposite Parapunov gets Big West honor

The sophomore from Sofia, Bulgaria shared the weekly award with CSUN's Arvis Greene. Parapunov averaged 4.43 kills and 1.86 blocks per set while hitting at a .404 clip over the two matches. He helped the Rainbow Warriors to their first-ever road sweep in Santa Barbara and win for the first time there since 2010. -- KHON - HI

UC IRVINE FINISHES SEASON SWEEP WITH ROAD WIN OVER CSUN

After a roller coaster five-set match on Friday, UC Irvine took a much easier route to victory on Saturday, finishing the season sweep of Cal State Northridge with a 25-18, 25-23, 25-20 road win. With the victory, UCI kept pace with Hawaii for the second spot in the Big West standings at 5-3, behind Long Beach State’s 8-0 mark -- Volley Mob
