SandBows Host 2018 Big West Tournament

UH and Cal Poly are the top two seeds and will receive a bye in the double-elimination tournament. The Rainbow Wahine will face the winner of the (4) CSUN-(5) Cal State Bakersfield matchup on Friday at noon. This is the second time in three seasons that UH has received the top seed and the SandBows are 6-0 all-time in the tournament. -- KITV - HI

Despite successful week, Sooners stay at No. 6 in RPI, increasing pressure the rest of the way

Last Tuesday, they survived Tulsa 1-0 thanks to a solo homer from Jocelyn Alo. After falling behind Wichita State by six runs on April 11, the Sooners rallied to win 7-6, scoring all seven runs in the bottom of the sixth inning. With a flight home waiting at the airport, they battled Cal State Northridge, on its home turf, into the 11th inning on March 19. Dr. Brandon Martin Appointed New President and CEO of Home Field 4 Champions/L.A.

In his previous executive role, Martin served as the Director of Athletics at California State University, Northridge. From 2013-18, Martin lead the day-to-day operations of CSUN’s Division I athletics program that included a $15.8 million operating budget, 19 sport programs and over 400 student-athletes. -- BizWire Express

For CSUN, Arvis Greene led the Matadors in his final collegiate match with 9 kills. Dimitar Kalchev finished with 5 kills and a team-high 2 aces. Maciej Ptaszynski had 4 kills on 8 swings while leading the team in digs with 7. Setter Sam Porter couldn’t find another terminator other than Greene, struggling to dish out 14 assists.
