NAU Roundup: Volleyball releases schedule, headlined by match against Florida
Joining the Gators at the Lumberjacks' home tournament Sept. 7-8 will be CSUN and Southern Illinois. Northern Arizona's home opener will be Southern Illinois on the first day of the tournament followed by Florida in the nightcap. The Lumberjacks will close with CSUN on Saturday in an NAU doubleheader coinciding with the football team's home opener in the Walkup Skydome. --KPVI
Minnesota Twins Select Matadors' Weiss in MLB Draft
NORTHRIDGE – A week after he was selected by the Minnesota Twins in the 2018 Major League Baseball Draft, CSUN Baseball’s Albee Weiss has received ABCA/Rawlings All-Region Second Team honors, as announced by the American Baseball Coaches Association on Wednesday. Capping off a memorable career with the Matadors last month, Weiss is the first Matadors to earn all-region accolades since 2002. --SCV News
Amanda Lorenz Joins USA WNT At Japan All-Star Series
Lorenz, along with the Japan All-Star Series roster, will go through training camp and exhibition games this week at the Scrap Yard Complex before setting their sights on the Japan All-Star Series June 20-23, 2018 where they will face the Japan National Team in a three-game series. Pickles win a new way
The Pickles are expected to start right-hander Joel Casillas (Cal State Northridge). Casillas, a freshman, threw three innings in a 7-2 win over the Cowlitz Black Bears on June 4. He surrendered two runs on three hits and struck out four. -- Portland Tribune
