Opus Bank Further Expands Its Los Angeles Commercial Banking Team

Mr. Minasyan joins Opus most recently from Bank of America, where from 2003 he served as Senior Vice President, Senior Relationship Manager – Commercial Banking. While at Bank of America, Mr. Minasyan was responsible for managing and growing a portfolio of lower middle market and middle market commercial clients and professional services firms in the Downtown Los Angeles market. Earlier in his career, Mr. Minasyan served as Financial Services Officer at Union Bank, where he focused on developing depository and treasury management client relationships with small businesses, as well as commercial real estate, C&I, and SBA lending opportunities. Mr. Minasyan began his banking career at Bank of America in 1996. Mr. Minasyan holds a B.S. in Business Administration from California State University, Northridge. -- Stockhouse

Philanthropists Lisa and Larry Rosenstein, Randi and Warren Grant, Pediatric Oncologist Dr. Alan Wayne To Be Honored at Tower Cancer Foundation Gala

Randi and Warren Grant have been married for 35 years and have three sons, Adam, Jason and Jordan. Warren is the president and founder of Grant, Tani, Barash & Altman LLC, a business management firm established in 1991. Warren graduated from the Wharton School of Finance at the University of Pennsylvania and is a CPA and registered financial advisor. After graduating from Cal State Northridge, Randi launched the company Design World. She has volunteered her interior design and events expertise as a Tower Magnolia Council member since 2011. She co-chaired Tower’s 2014 Spirit of Hope Luncheon and has hosted a number of Magnolia Council speaker programs. In addition to her design activities, Randi is now working in real estate investment and has taken on the leadership role of Magnolia Council Treasurer. Warren is an active member of the Water Buffalo Club, a local non-profit group of professionals who donate their time and resources to improve the lives of young children in the underserved communities of L.A. He is a past member of the American Heart Association, Muscular Dystrophy Association, Crohns & Colits Foundation, Magic Johnson Foundation among others. When she is not working with Tower, Randi is volunteering with organizations like Camp Hess Kramer, Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation and the Heart and Stroke Ward at Cedars. -- Beverly Hills Courier

Governor Brown Announces Appointments

Sandra I. Aldana, 47, of Newbury Park, has been reappointed to the California State Council on Developmental Disabilities, where she has served since 2015. Aldana has been a self-employed educational consultant since 2013. She was a data collector at Westat from 2016 to 2018 and a technical assistant at JFA Avionics from 2010 to 2013. She was a graduate research assistant at the University of California, Santa Barbara Department of Education from 2005 to 2012, a graduate intern at the University of California Cooperative Extension Agricultural Water Quality Research and Education Program from 2006 to 2009 and a consultant and facilitator at the ALS Association’s Kern County Patient and Caregiver Support Group from 2005 to 2006. Aldana was an instructor of advanced Spanish grammar and beginning literature for the University of Kansas Department of Spanish and Portuguese and a development coordinator at the American Stroke Foundation in 2004. She was a graduate teaching and research assistant at the University of Kansas Department of Applied Behavioral Science from 2003 to 2004, a service coordinator at the North Los Angeles County Regional Center from 2001 to 2003 and a qualified mental retardation professional at the United Cerebral Palsy Chatsworth Campus from 2000 to 2001. Aldana was a pregnancy prevention program coordinator at the Vista Community Clinic from 1999 to 2000, a senior health educator for pregnancy prevention at the Northridge Hospital Medical Center from 1998 to 1999 and a staff intern at the World Health Organization in 1997. She was a women’s health graduate teaching assistant for the Department of Health Science at California State University, Northridge from 1995 to 1996, an intern at the Ventura County Department of Public Health from 1996 to 1997 and an AIDS educator for AIDS Care Inc. from 1990 to 1998. Aldana is a member of the American Educational Research Association, International Association for the Scientific Study of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities, California Association for Bilingual Education, American Association of University Women and the American Public Health Association. She earned a Doctor of Philosophy degree in education from the University of California, Santa Barbara and a Master of Public Health degree in health education from California State University, Northridge. This position does not require Senate confirmation and the compensation is $100 per diem. Aldana is a Democrat. -- Imperial Valley News

Signing her way to stardom

She studied creative writing at California State University, Northridge, a school that has become a magnet for deaf students. She was crowned Miss Deaf America in 2000 (“There was no swimsuit competition — it was about ambassadorship, not beauty, and I did a performance of ‘The Giving Tree,’ because I love Shel Silverstein.”) She also joined Deafywood, a comedy troupe, developing her dance skills. -- Philadelphia Tribune
