Inquiry & Discovery Learning
(1) Develop an inquiry lesson that integrates mathematics and science principles
- Develop an activity that teaches one or more scientific concepts using Geogebra. Post your Geogebra file(s) on your website and the class Wiki. The Geogebra files should include images of the scientific principle you are teaching, overlaid with the appropriate geometric figures and measurements. It is best to develop dynamic lessons in which you can illustrate how the principle applies to many different specific situations.
- Develop a lesson that explains the activity and provides ample instruction on what students are to do and learn. Post your lesson on you website and the class Wiki. Your lesson should be written clearly enough that your students and other teachers can use it.
(2) Develop an inquiry lesson in astronomy
- Develop a lesson using Starry Night and/or Google Sky , Google Mars, Google Moon introduces one or more important concepts in astronomy. Provide ample instruction on what students are to do and learn. Post your lesson on your website and the class Wiki. Embed images, links, or movies into your lesson that illustrate key astronomical scenes or events that you are using to teach specific concepts in astronomy. Your lesson should be written clearly enough that your students and other teachers can use it.
