Styles: Use styles to identify different heading levels within
document. Note, if you use Microsoft Office (2000 or later) in conjunction with
Explorer (5.5 or later), very little clean up is necessary.
Table of contents: Insert the text from these
two speeches into the sample document for
this in-class assignment.
Use Word Art: Create a title for this sample using Word Art.
Hyperlinks: Download graphics to a local folder. Establish
hyperlinks from text in your document to these graphics so you can access them
by clicking on the document.
Text Boxes: Format your text using linked text boxes so text
flows from one box to another. See a sample newsletter
with linked text boxes
Movies, Music, Speech: Include a movie,
speech or musical piece in your file
Cite text: Always
cite sources using footnotes or endnotes.
Bullets & numbers: Reconfigure
bulleted/numbered information in sample
document.
Insert graphics: Acquire images of the Moon from the NASA
Image exchange, or other
image libraries, as well as from scanned images. Insert these graphics into
text boxes and insert textural descriptions. Additional images may be available
from other related websites.
Insert and configure tables: Import and
reconfigure the table of planetary data.
Charts: Use the charting feature in Word to
illustrate the number of lunar missions/year.
