My View of Creativity
Whether we ascribe to the notion that creativity is a unique
dynamic in every individual or not is of no concern. the truth is,
creativity simply is. It extends above and beyond our
wiring into the depths of our spiritual souls and nourishes us
regardless of the artistic arena we choose. Rather, the creative
medium chooses us.
There are endless possibilities in connecting with ourselves and
with others. Some converge into a steady stream of consciousness
while others diverge into many forks in the road, maddening them,
challenging them, and creating intensity in the person through a
wild or serene form of self-expression. I firmly believe that the
journey speaks louder than labels. In an effort to be enlightened
and genuinely grow as human beings on a spiritual path, the
instability in art often allows for stability.
I have learned that people have generous hearts for sharing a piece
of themselves, exposing vulnerability and emanating their raw
nature. Creativity is an event to be savored, remembered, and
applied to our own lives.
The creative personality does not favor any one soul over another.
The potential for beauty is present in us all, even when we hide
behind facades. Creation is inherent in all individuals because
that is why we are here. Defining our creative personality is
dependent on our own perception and passionate will. As artists in
the fame of life, it is an ideal invention to have a reciprocal
relationship with nature and with each other so that the creative
force thrives on.
I immerse myself into the world, sometimes with apprehension and at
other times with intense zeal. I am a vat of soup adding the
lessons of life into me - pain, joy, and inspiration - to become a
richer texture. I know the process will never cease because, in
me, lives an endless resource that is perpetuated by a power
greater than myself. Parsi Kim, Psychology 344 - Spring
