CSUN NSF Teaching Fellowship Program

Applicants for the MTF Program must:

1) Currently teach secondary math, ideally for more than one year.

2) Hold a California single subject mathematics credential.

3) Have previously earned a master's degree in an area other than mathematics education.

4) Have earned an undergraduate GPA greater than 2.5. If the GPA is less than 3.0, GRE scores must also be submitted; the score for at least one section must be in the top 50th percentile.

5) Submit a copy of valid passing scores from the California Subject Examinations for Teachers (CSET) Mathematics Subject Matter Exam Parts I-III. (If accepted to the MTF Program, the Program will reimburse examination fees.) CSUN is currently hosting a FREE Preparation class for parts I and II of the exam. GRE subject matter or Praxis exams may be used instead, with approval of the screening committee.
