Reading and Publishing Popular Literature
This new area in the Popular Culture Association will focus on the reading and publishing of popular literature of any period from any country. Papers are invited on reading audiences, reading experiences, publishing, history of publishing firms, history of books, periodicals, ephemera, marketing, advertising, and distribution.
Dates: Good Friday is March 28th and Easter Sunday is March 30th; Passover does not coincide with Easter in 1997. The conference will begin at 8:30 a.m. on March 26th and will end at 6:00 p.m. March 29th. If you wish to give a paper early in the conference in order to be home for Easter, let the area chair know when you submit your proposal.
Equipment: If you plan to use slides, bring them in a carousel which can be used with a Kodak slide projector. VCRs are also available.
Fees: Registration fees are $70. ($30 for students/retirees/ unemployed) Membership is $35. Registration fees are not refundable if your name has been printed on the program.
