This graduate course is designed to provide you a solid understanding in Healthcare Informatics development, and have an ability to critically analyze these Information Systems requirements within the theoretical framework.
It provides a well-rounded understanding of requirements, design, and control of major business processes that are integral within a healthcare enterprise system. Topics include Systems Analysis and Design methodologies and techniques for Healthcare Information System development, issues of privacy and confidentiality, fraud and abuse, as well as controls for systems reliability.
The course benefits both Information Systems students interested in working in the growing Healthcare industry and Healthcare professionals interested in designing and implementing effective Information Systems to support their business.

Class Journal: At the end of each lecture, write a 2-page Class Journal to record the issues that you have learned from the class meeting (lecture note, textbook chapter, class discussion ...) They should be in Times-News Roman 12, single-spaced. Submit Class Journals Packages in time (see the following schedule) for evaluation and feedback.
Reading Materials: For each additional assigned article / document, write a 2-page Reading Report (same format as Class Journal) then submit with Class Journal Package
Assignments: Three (3) individual assignments on "EHR" using materials to be distributed in class
