Provost’s Message |
|
Hello Colleagues,
I think it's an understatement when I say that we have had a busy semester! We have gradually begun to repopulate the campus; our Equity in Faculty Hiring Initiative has launched and tools, training, and resources are being introduced; and the Road Map to the Future released its initial findings. Meanwhile, CSUN faculty and staff dedicated themselves as always to excellence in teaching and mentoring students, and several of the news items below are proof of that.
As I write this, Commencement is only a few days away. This is such a wonderful time of year on campus. Our graduating students are excited and full of hope for what lies ahead, and you -- our faculty and staff -- should rightfully be proud of all you have done to guide our graduates along the way. CSUN faculty and staff always give 110%, and it shows in the faces of our students on Commencement day as they reflect on where they have been and where they are going. Thank you for your dedication and hard work. I hope you enjoy this newsletter and have a relaxing summer.
Mary Beth Walker, Ph.D. Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs

Share Your Feedback About CSUN's Road Ahead
|
Road Map Reaches the Finish Line
Last week, we released the findings of the Road Map to the Future, an initiative that was built on the foundation of President Beck’s 100-day Listening Tour. Charged by President Beck to identify areas of focus for the university’s planning initiative, the Road Map Steering Committee worked to build consensus around the vision of a just and equitable future for CSUN, ensuring that every identified priority begins with and emanates from our unwavering commitment to inclusive excellence. The resulting Road Map strategic directions will guide the institutional plan and transform the future at CSUN. The document has been posted with a Qualtrics form for public feedback until May 19 at the Road Map website, and your suggestions are both encouraged and vital to our inclusive process. Although the Road Map initiative has reached the finish line, the real work lies ahead as divisional vice presidents implement specific priorities aligned with Road Map strategic directions.
Be sure to take a look at CSUN's Road Ahead and share your input!
Enjoy a brief video about the Road Map process and what it means for CSUN.
