Dear Colleagues,

The spring semester is flying by and we hope you are enjoying seeing colleagues and students on campus. We wanted to share some important reminders that will help us finish the semester together, strong and healthy.

We are excitedly planning our first in-person graduation in two years! With this in mind, CSUN continues to maintain indoor mask requirements for all students, faculty and staff, regardless of vaccination status, throughout the spring semester. This is a momentous occasion for CSUN’s graduating classes from 2019-2022, and we remain fiercely committed to doing all that we can to ensure that our students will enjoy their celebration in person with their loved ones. The ongoing indoor mask requirement is also based on the fact that the California Department of Public Health continues to strongly recommend masking, stating that masks remain a critical component for protecting those that are most vulnerable in our communities. We also continue to keep a watchful eye on a new COVID-19 variant.

Other important news and reminders:

Booster Reminders:

  • Boosters are currently required for CFA (Unit 3), SUPA (Unit 8) and non-represented employees as soon as employee is eligible according to CDC guidelines.
  • All other represented employees are encouraged to obtain their boosters as soon as eligible and input their certification. We will update you of specific timeline requirements after the meet and confer processes are completed.
  • Employees may provide vaccination and booster self-certification or request an exemption through the myNorthridge Portal. Once logged into the portal, under the Policies and Procedures pagelets of the Faculty or Staff tab, select the EE Vaccine Self-Certification link and complete the form accordingly.

On-Campus COVID-19 Testing Updates:

  • While on-campus COVID-19 testing is currently open to the entire CSUN community, beginning Monday, April 18, 2022, testing will only be available to those with medical or religious exemptions or those whom the university has identified as a close contact with someone who has tested positive. We encourage others to avail themselves of free testing options now widely available across the greater Los Angeles region. Click here for a list of options within L.A. County.
  • Testing for those with medical or religious exemptions is required on a weekly basis.
  • On-campus testing for exemptions and close contacts will continue to be available Monday through Friday, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at kiosks located near the Extended University Commons and the University Student Union (USU) Freudian Sip. Please see map for details. Test results are normally provided 24 - 48 hours after test date.

Please visit COVID-19 Employee Testing | California State University, Northridge (csun.edu) for more information.

Don’t forget the Daily Health Screening!

  • All CSUN students, employees or visitors coming on to campus, whether vaccinated or unvaccinated, must complete a daily Health Screening Survey.

Resources for your well-being

  • We encourage you to visit CSUN’s newest wellness resource website for students and employees, CSUN Revitalize: The Campus Care Recovery Program (CCRP). The site offers valuable information including comprehensive wellness resources, clinical services and the toolkits necessary to promote and sustain wellness recovery in the wake of the pandemic for CSUN’s diverse community of students, faculty, staff and administrators. In addition, don’t forget to access Calm, our latest employee wellness resource. Calm is the No. 1 app for mental fitness and features a diverse content library that offers resources to suit your schedule and needs.

As always, thank you for continuing to care for one another and for showing flexibility, understanding and kindness as we continue to navigate this pandemic together and work to support the success of our students. If you have any questions regarding vaccinations, boosters or testing, please feel free to reach out to Human Resources, Employee Relations at er@csun.edu or 818-677-6566.

Warm regards,
