CSUN Students Break a Record Once Again – Number one in Southern California

For the second year in a row, CSUN’s Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Clinic broke a record in its transformative growth trajectory. VITA Clinic student volunteers served a record 6,012 low-income taxpayers for the tax season that just concluded on April 18, far exceeding its goal of serving 4,000 households.

$750,000 Gift from Accounting Leader Harvey Bookstein and Wife Harriet Helps CSUN VITA Clinic Establish an Endowment

On Sept. 22, 2016, Harvey (right) and Harriet (left) Bookstein announced their intention to donate $750,000 for the creation of an endowment to support in perpetuity the CSUN VITA Clinic. Their donation will be matched with a $75,000 grant from the U.S. Department of Education.

Senator Hertzberg and Citi Community Development Help CSUN Expand Tax Assistance Program

Joined by community members on Feb. 21, state Sen. Bob Hertzberg (D-Van Nuys) announced a new partnership with California State University, Northridge’s income tax preparation assistance program during a press conference at Morningside Elementary School, one of three new clinic locations in the City of San Fernando.

Wells Fargo Bank and the CSUN VITA Clinic Sponsor Mega VITA day

This daylong event was held by local and state government officials, including the California State Board of Equalization, as part of a major outreach effort designed to empower low-income taxpayers in the community.

City National Bank Partners with CSUN VITA Clinic to Serve Over 1,500 CSUN Students

Once again, City National Bank has been a proud sponsor of the CSUN Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Clinic, having donated $20,000 in 2016 to help reach out and serve CSUN students and low- to moderate-income individuals in the community. Thanks to its financial support, City National Bank has helped the CSUN VITA Clinic to encourage individuals to take advantage of the clinic’s free services.
