Feria de Educación Provides Pathway to College Success for Latino Community

In 2008, Univision and the CSU Chancellor’s office partnered to create Feria de Educación, which provides Latino families with valuable information about college preparedness. CSUN hosted this event for the first time on Oct. 15, attracting families both from the San Fernando Valley and beyond to aid young people wanting to learn about college applications, financial aid, careers through various majors and much more.

CSUN Shines a Light on Faculty Research at Annual Colloquium

CSUN showcased a sample of its wide variety of faculty research Oct. 11 at the university’s eighth annual Research Fellows Colloquium. The annual panel event is the culmination of a yearlong faculty research fellowship funded by the Office of the Provost and administered by the university’s colleges and the Oviatt Library.

CSUN STEM Program Receives Nearly $6M Grant

The CSUN AIMS2 program — a collaborative effort by CSUN and local community colleges to increase the number of underrepresented students who study computer science and engineering — has received the support of the U.S. Department of Education, awarding the program nearly $6 million over five years to expand its reach.

China Through the Lens of John Thomson

Sat, Oct. 22, to Sat, Dec. 10
Legendary Scottish photographer and travel writer John Thomson (1837-1921) set off to Hong Kong in 1868 and in the next four years he undertook several major journeys photographing regions of China. The photographs taken on these journeys form one of the most extensive records of any region taken in the 19th century.
