The CSUN VITA Clinic is offering to prepare and file federal and state tax returns for free to those earning $53,000 or less. Are the Services Free?
Yes! If your household income was under $54,000 in 2015, you can have your federal and state tax returns prepared and e-filed for free by a trained and certified student volunteer at one of the CSUN VITA Clinic sites throughout the San Fernando Valley. You may also qualify for the Earned Income Tax Credit when you file your tax return.
CSUN VITA Clinic locations will be open beginning January 23, 2016 through April 15, 2016. While walk-ins are welcomed, appointments are recommended.

Do I Need to Make an Appointment?
Appointments are encouraged, but not required. To make an appointment, please visit us at: www. XXXXX Eligible individuals without an appointment are welcome to any of our sites, but will only be seen if time permits. Also, if you prefer, you may drop off your documents with one of our trained clinicians at any of the sites, and come back again a week later to pick up your return. The last day for the drop off service is April 8, 2016.
Are there Spanish Speaking Interpreters and Do You Provide Other Accommodations?
Yes, Spanish speaking interpreters are available in most sites. Also, please let us know at least 72 hours before arrival, if you need any special accommodations.
What do I need to bring to the site?
Please be sure to bring with you the following:
For married filing joint, both spouses must be present |
Proof of identification for yourself and/or your spouse |
All Forms W-2 and 1099, 1098 |
Total paid to day care provider and their tax ID number |
Information for other income |
Birth dates for you, spouse and/or dependents on the return |
Information for all deductions/credits |
Social Security cards or Individual Taxpayer Identification notices/cards for you, your spouse, and/or dependents |
A copy of last year’s tax return, if available |
Forms 1095-A, B or C (Affordable Health Care Statements) |
Savings or checking account and routing numbers for direct deposit |
For prior year or returns, copies of income transcripts from IRS (and state, if applicable) |
