Monday, January 13 & Tuesday, January 14, 2014
The first day of the 2014 Faculty Retreat will be held on the CSUN Campus at the USU Northridge Center (Monday, January 13).
- Monday morning (January 13) will begin with continental breakfast, remarks from President Dianne Harrison, and a panel discussion by three faculty members who will share stories about some of their successful community partnerships. After lunch, presenations about how faculty are building engagement and connecting with the campus, local, and greater Los Angeles community will be offered. Newer faculty may consider attending presentations sponsored by NFO. The day will conclude with Provost Hellenbrand giving his traditional closing remarks, followed by the annual Faculty Social (sponsored by CFA) at the Orange Grove Bistro. Our very own jazz band students will entertain us, while faculty unwind and converse with their colleagues.
- On Tuesday (January 14), we will venture out into the community with a visit to the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles. Attendees will be given a private tour of the "Becoming Los Angeles" exhibit. For this museum trip, space is limited to the first 50 people who indicate on the registration form, by checking the "yes" button, that they wish to go AND by paying the $15 activity fee by the deadline date (December 2).
- The complete Faculty Retreat program will be posted one week before the event.
- Please contact the Faculty Senate Office (X3263) for more information.
