Fee Waiver Application Period for Fall 2017

If you are interested in taking advantage of the CSU Fee Waiver Benefit for the Fall 2017 semester, the CSU Fee Waiver Module is currently available for registration. In order to ensure timely processing, please submit your application no later than April 22, 2017 (learn more).

This workshop is intended for administrative personnel responsible for hiring and processing Student Employees for employment during Summer 2017. This session will not address hiring and processing of Academic Personnel.

  2. Select the "Instructor Led Training Sessions" link under Upcoming Events, and scroll until you find the name and date of the program;

51st Annual Staff Service & Recognition of Excellence Awards Event | May 4

CSUN will celebrate the 51st Annual Staff Service and Recognition of Excellence Awards Event Thursday, May 4, 2017. This event recognizes employees who have achieved milestones in five-year increments of dedicated service to the University as well as individuals and teams for outstanding efforts made over the course of the calendar year.  

Please review the following list of employees scheduled to be recognized at 2017 Staff Service Award Honorees. If you are on the list, you should have received an invitation to attend.  If you have not already done so, please RSVP.  Also, let us know if you think you should be on the list or if you are, and think that it's not yet time to celebrate your anniversary.

Individuals and teams nominated for consideration of a 2017 Recognition of Excellence Award will receive notification within the coming week.  If you are nominated, congratulations!  Please RSVP to the invitation as soon as possible.

New Hire / Position Description Reminder

Please remember to have new staff sign their position description within seven days of their hire date and to forward a copy of the signed position description to Human Resources, University Hall 165, mail drop 8229. The signed position description is maintained in the employee’s file and the position file. Retaining an electronic version of position descriptions within the department will make future updates easier.

As a reminder, if significant changes are made to a position description of a current staff member, that staff member should also sign their newly revised position description, with a copy sent to HR and the original maintained in the employee’s file and the position file.

The Social Security Retirement Estimator produces estimates that are based on your actual Social Security benefits. You can also apply for Social Security, check the status of your online application, and complete many other transactions by visiting the Social Security Administration website.
