Description:
Wellness Circle discussions will be facilitated by Dr. Urvashi Mulasi, Nutrition faculty and Director of the Dietetics program, who has studied and practiced mindfulness for many years, including with author Jon Kabat-Zinn. There will be three Wellness Circle gatherings in spring spaced one month apart, giving Wellness Circle participants time to practice the techniques learned. Topics will include: the seven foundations of mindfulness (non-judging, patience, beginner’s mind, trust, non-striving, acceptance, letting go); sitting meditation; body scan meditation practice; eating meditation practice; mindful yoga; and incorporating mindfulness on the go.

HWB offers various programs throughout the week to help the CSUN community enhance their holistic wellbeing. All programs are free of cost and open to CSUN students, faculty, staff, and the community. We regularly host Mindfulness Mondays and Wellbeing Wednesdays, which range from meditations, nutrition workshops, yoga sessions, or other wellness-related topics.

Research has shown that happiness and positivity lead to success. During this workshop we will answer the question of “what fuels success?” If we work hard, become successful then we will be happy; however, the formula is backwards. If we choose happiness, the brain works better, and we become successful.
