QPR Suicide Prevention Training for Faculty and Staff | February 7

Join us for this training as we provide you with insightful suicide data and trends, useful resource information, tips for recognizing signs of suicidal thoughts in others and ways to help prevent suicide. Engage your Students with PollEverywhere | February 22

Description:

PollEverywhere is a tool that provides a safe platform to engage your students with various polling activities such as word cloud, questions, and Q&A. Students can respond on their computer, iPad or mobile phone and the instructor can link the activities to Canvas grading to give students credit for their participation. This workshop will cover how to get started with PollEverywhere, how activities such as word cloud work, and how to create these activities.

Recommended attendees: Instructors looking to continue engaging students during class whether over Zoom, on campus or both.

Introduction to Accessibility and Universal Design | February 22

In this introductory session you will learn about the accessibility and universal design strategies and principals necessary to create inclusive learning environments that support all students, faculty and staff alike.

Recommended Attendees: Staff, Faculty, Executives, Financial Personnel, Marketing Specialist, Business Analyst, Admin Support, Graphic Designers, and Instructional Support. Note: The accessibility training is for CSUN faculty, staff, student employees, and alumni.

Learning Objectives:

    1. Learn the difference between accessibility and universal design.
    2. Understand the foundation principals for accessibility (4).
    3. Recognize the benefits of building with accessibility in mind and incorporating universal design principals into learning material.
