Identifying, Preventing & Responding to Fraud | April 5

Description:
Fraud occurs even in the college and university environment. In this course you will gain an understanding of the types of fraud that occur at colleges and universities. Many of our campuses have been victims of fraud from internal and external perpetrators. While the internet and computers have made some aspects of our work easier, they have also opened up new methods, such as phishing, for fraudsters to exploit. You will be presented with several case studies of actual frauds and will learn what led to the fraud and how it could have been prevented. Learning
Objectives: After completing this course, you will be able to:
1. Identify various types of fraud 2. Understand common fraud schemes in the university environment 3. Spot behavior patterns that might indicate pressure to commit fraud 4. Implement controls that can reduce the occurrence of fraud 5. Take appropriate action if fraud is suspected

The SMART Goals approach utilizes behavior-based science and principles of human motivation to provide clarity, focus, and motivation to increase the probability of achieving a goal.
This “hands-on” workshop will allow participants to create meaningful and effective SMART goals in real time as we take a process-oriented, step-by-step approach to exploring the functionality of SMART goals and what makes them so effective.
Participants will utilize behavior mapping techniques and a SMART Goal Development Guide to prioritize, develop, and implement SMART goals in both personal and professional settings. Participants will be able to apply knowledge and skills developed in this workshop to personal goals, department, team and project goals, as well as to employee Individual Development Plans and performance evaluations.
