Workplace Violence/Surviving an Active Shooter Incident - PART II | November 1
At CSUN we have seen an increase in the number of faculty, staff and students who have raised concerns about their own safety and/or the safety of others. Part II of the workshop will deal with the worst case scenario of an active shooter situation on campus to explain the survival mindset necessary in that situation as well as realistic strategies for dealing with it. There will also be an explanation of what to expect regarding emergency response by CSUN Police.

Our busy lives make it easy to take sleep for granted. But the right amount of shut-eye can reduce stress, spur your creativity, and help you lose weight. It may even make you look younger. To help you feel more productive, healthy, and focused, Human Resources has teamed up with Kaiser Permanente to bring you Rest and Revive. During this fun, easy-to-follow program, you will receive six weekly emails with practical suggestions for getting better rest — and avoiding common mistakes that keep you up at night. Along the way, you can find tips on physical activity, healthy eating, and making sure your bedroom is set up to help you sleep.
The first email will give you the tools to log your sleep habits and daily routines and assess your progress. Get ready — it’s the first step on the path to better rest.

Matador Athletics Faculty and Staff Appreciation Series - Women's Basketball vs Weber State | November 30
The Fall 2017 Faculty & Staff Series includes six home events on campus. For attending four of the six designated games, participants will receive a #OneMatador Polo Shirt. CSUN Faculty and Staff members will receive free admission to each game and are invited to bring up to three guests.
All CSUN Faculty and Staff members are eligible to participate by checking in at each game using their CSUN ID. The Athletics Department will have a separate check-in area for participants at each venue in order to track attendance. Premium giveaway items will also be made available for each game, as applicable, at the Faculty & Staff Series check-in table.
