radKIDS: Personal Empowerment Safety Education (5-7 years) | December 4 - 8

The 5-day radKIDS (Resisting Aggression Defensively) program teaches positive, safe choices for children to handle abuse, bullying and abduction as well as everyday safety issues. It gives children confidence, skills and self-esteem to recognize, resist and if necessary, escape violence.

Note: This class meets DECEMBER 4, 5, 6, 7, AND 8. Children must attend all 5 days.

Daily Time: 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm

Location: Department of Police Services, 2nd Floor Training Room

Cost per child is $10 for all five days, this includes all materials and a parent manual. Class size is limited. Parents are encouraged, but not required, to attend. radKIDS also entitles graduated radkids to practice and return until their 13th birthday, FREE!

The Intricacies of University Budgeting | December 6

With forty years of experience at the University in various financial roles, Sharon Eichten, Associate Vice President, Budget Planning & Management, has developed a keen and comprehensive understanding of CSUN’s budget planning process and the ins and outs of planning on both an annual and long term basis.  Join Sharon for a conversation about the roles the state, CSU system and campus play in this important process.  You’ll leave with a better understanding of the University’s finances, how things at the state level affect us at the campus level, and how changes can affect your department.

Research & Sponsored Projects Drop-In Consultation | December 7

The Office of Research and Sponsored Projects invites you to drop in for one on one assistance with the following activities: proposal budget development, interpretation of request for proposal guidelines, Cayuse record creation, human and animal subjects protocol writing and revisions, intellectual property and drone questions, and much more.

Feel free to come by and meet with any of our staff for all of your research and sponsored project needs. Not a good day for you? We offer Drop-In Consultations the first Thursday of each month this semester!

Matador Athletics Faculty and Staff Appreciation Series - Men's Basketball vs Loyola Marymount | December 9

The Fall 2017 Faculty & Staff Series includes six home events on campus. For attending four of the six designated games, participants will receive a #OneMatador Polo Shirt. CSUN Faculty and Staff members will receive free admission to each game and are invited to bring up to three guests.

All CSUN Faculty and Staff members are eligible to participate by checking in at each game using their CSUN ID. The Athletics Department will have a separate check-in area for participants at each venue in order to track attendance. Premium giveaway items will also be made available for each game, as applicable, at the Faculty & Staff Series check-in table.
