You are invited to the Fall 2017, AY 2017-2018 Academic Personnel Hiring and Processing Workshop which will take place on Tuesday, August 1, 2017 from 10:00 – 12:00 a.m. in the Jack and Florence Ferman Presentation Room, Oviatt Library. Together, Human Resources and Faculty Affairs will cover gearing up for Fall 2017 and AY 2017-2018, as well as wrapping up Summer 2017. We’ll provide you with information on:

To Register for the Workshop:
- Log into the myNorthridge Portal
- Locate the Training/Professional Dev pagelet and select the Employee Learning & Training link.
- You’ll see a link for Instructor Led Training sessions below your name. Choose the link.
- Scroll down to find Course Title CSUN_HR_AP_Hiring_Workshop, and select Enroll.
Shortly after you select enroll, you’ll receive an email notification. If you click on the calendar icon in the message, your outlook calendar will open allowing you to place the item as an appointment on your calendar
CSUN Matador Masters - Toastmasters Meeting | August 2 & 16
Interested in gaining more confidence and developing your leadership and communication skills in a no-pressure atmosphere? We’ve established a CSUN Toastmasters chapter open to all staff and faculty. Toastmasters’ mission is to provide its members with a positive and supportive learning environment where participants can practice delivering speeches and fulfilling leadership roles, which can in turn foster self-confidence and personal and professional growth. Your participation in a Toastmasters club can help you to conduct effective meetings, guide successful team collaborations, and enhance your listening and speaking abilities. Those who are interested are encouraged to attend.

Academic Personnel Hiring & Processing Review Session | August 8
Presented by the HR Operations Team.
Join us for this informative session on Tuesday, August 8, 2017 from 10:00 – 11:30 a.m. in OV-16 (Oviatt Library) where we will be covering specifics on hiring into the PTF Module, Students Module, plus the NEW appointment letter process. We will also be available to answer any questions you may have regarding Fall 2017 hiring, and wrapping-up Summer 2017!
Light refreshments will be provided.
Supervising and Mentoring Student Assistants - The Student Assistant Mentorship Program | Friday, August 18
Each year the Student Recreation Center employs approximately 200 student assistants to help make their operation run smoothly and without interruption or inconvenience. Join Sandra Salute, Jimmy Francis, and Kaila Lavin for insight into how they select the right students, introduce them to the customer service focused culture of the SRC, and how they guide/mentor their students through their appointment.
Additionally, Human Resources will introduce you to the Student Assistant Mentorship Program (StAMP) and how you and your department can use it to help your student assistants be successful and provide them with a meaningful employment experience. We'll have copies of the StAMP booklet available for you to provide your new student assistants and walk you through the StAMP website.
