June brings an exciting assortment of campus events for Faculty and Staff to stay engaged. From Commit To Be Fit to AS' Summer Movie Fest, there are ways for you to enjoy the campus community this Summer.

Have fun with your colleagues and enjoy dinner, bingo, basketball, Zumba, the rock wall, inflatables, facepainting and other games for the young and those young at heart.

2016 Staff Service & Recognition of Excellence Awards Event

A Celebration of the 50th Annual CSUN Staff Service Awards and the Recognition of Excellence Awards Event was held Thursday, May 26, 2016 at the University Student Union, Northridge Center. The annual event honors staff, managers and auxiliary employees on their 5, 10, 15, and other five year service increments, as well as colleagues nominated for recognition of their individual or collective "team" contributions.

Associated Students' Summer Movie Fest Returns!

Free to students, faculty, staff and their families, as well as community neighbors, the season kicks of with Finding Nemo, Thursday, June 16th, and ends with Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens, on Thursday, September 1st.

Bring the family and blankets for an evening of fun on the Oviatt Lawn.

Commit To Be Fit - Summer!

WHO: Commit To Be Fit (CTBF) is a free fitness program for CSUN staff/ faculty and their loved ones, in addition to local residential and business neighbors in Northridge. The program is led by CSUN Kinesiology students, under the supervision of CSUN Kinesiology faculty. The workouts consist of cutting edge and scientifically sound functional cardiovascular and resistance training aimed to get you in shape and help you FEEL YOUR BEST!

WHAT: Recognizing that you work hard and deserve a great health benefit, we created a fun and engaging fitness program. CTBF is designed for all fitness levels and will expand your limits of strength, endurance, flexibility, balance, and cardiovascular health. Learn how to do activities in new ways— move more quickly, think faster, do what you never thought possible! Improved fitness improves your quality of life and makes your world bigger. 

WHEN: Every Tuesday and Thursday; from 5:30pm to 6:30pm. The program begins on June 7th and concludes on July 28th

WHERE: CSUN campus, Redwood Hall, room 200

* Physician Clearance is required for the following situations:
- Any "YES" response on the PAR-Q form
- A blood pressure reading of 140/90 or higher
- Diabetes

Lunch Time Express @ the SRC!

Facilitated by SRC Instructors

Lunch Time ExpressThe SRC offers several "Lunch Time Express" group exercises classes to faculty and staff. These classes are free and do not require an SRC membership to participate. Come join SRC members on your lunch break every Tuesday and Thursday this Summer (5/24/2016 - 8/18/2016) to pursue your wellness goals. This program is offered as part of the CSUN HR Professional Development program. Here is a list of classes now available for "Lunch Time Express" participants:

  • Cardio Fusion Express with Amanda
    • Tuesdays at 11:30 a.m., Motivation Studio
  • Zumba Express with Tiffany
    • Tuesdays at 12:00 p.m.. Motivation Studio
  • Cycle Express with Amanda
    • Thursdays at 11:00 a.m., Motivation Studio
  • Zumba Express with Tiffany
    • Thursdays at 11:30 a.m., Motivation Studio
