We're Transitioning to CSU Learn - A New Platform for Compliance and On-Line Skills Training | February 1

We are pleased to announce that CSUN, in partnership with the Chancellor's Office and all CSU campuses, is transitioning from the Skillport Learning Portal to CSU Learn effective February 1, 2019.  CSU Learn is a robust learning management tool that provides employees with access to required compliance training such as non-discrimination and information security awareness, as well as to more than 75,000 online courses, books, and videos, and registration for our campus professional development workshops.

Effective February 1, to complete your CSU online training, to register for in-person Professional and Personal Development campus workshops, or to access the vast library of online courses, books and videos, log into the myNorthridge portal and select "CSU Learn" in the Training/Professional Development pagelet.  For more information about CSU Learn, visit: https://www.csun.edu/hr/introducing-csu-learn, and click on the image below to view an introductory video to CSU Learn.

Recognition of Excellence Awards: Nominate a Colleague(s) | Due February 28

Recognize a colleague or colleagues who exhibit the Matador Spirit and help elevate CSUN  - Make a Nomination Today!

The 53rd Annual Staff Service and Recognition of Excellence Awards Event which will take place Monday, April 22, 2019 provides us the opportunity, through the Recognition of Excellence Awards, to recognize both staff members and teams for outstanding efforts made over the course of the calendar year. Those awards are the:

  • Presidential Award
  • Award of Merit
  • Alumni Award
  • Excellence in Diversity and Inclusion Award
  • Student Assistant of the Year
  • CSUN Leadership Award, and the
  • Jolene Koester Team Award

SRC Lunch Time Express: NOW Available 3X Per Week!| Begins January 22

Spring 2019 Lunch Time Express Is Available Every Monday and Wednesday, from 11:00 AM - 2:00 PM.
 
The SRC offers several “Lunch Time Express” group exercise classes to all faculty and staff. These classes are free and do not require an SRC membership to participate. Come join SRC members on your lunch break every Monday through Wednesday from 10:30am-2:30pm this Spring semester (1/22/2019-5/19/2019) to pursue your wellness goals. This program is offered as part of the CSUN HR Professional Development program. Commit To Be Fit - Free After Work Exercise Program | Orientation January 31

Commit to Be Fit (CTBF) is a free fitness program for CSUN staff/faculty/students and community members. The program is led by CSUN Kinesiology students under the supervision of CSUN Kinesiology faculty.
 
The workouts consist of cutting edge and scientifically sound functional cardiovascular and resistance training aimed to get you in shape and help you FEEL YOUR BEST! CTBF is designed for all fitness levels and will expand your limits of strength, endurance, flexibility, balance, and cardiovascular health. Learn how to do activities in new ways—move more quickly, think faster, do what you never thought possible! Improved fitness improves your quality of life and makes your world bigger.
 
The program is offered four times per week during the fall and spring semesters and twice a week in the summer. In the fall and spring semesters, both semi-private* and group exercise options are available.

Flu Season Kicks Is Here - Be Prepared! Flu Shots Available at Klotz Student Health Center

Faculty and staff can obtain a Quadrivalent Influenza (flu) shot at the Klotz Student Health Center by appointment.  The service charge is $20.  Call (818) 677-3666 to schedule an appointment. 

Individuals 65 and older may receive the Quadrivalent flu vaccine. However, there is a “high-dose” alternative. Ask your healthcare provider for more information.  The “high-dose” vaccine is not available at the Health Center.

The CDC has created a Vaccine Information Statements (VISs) sheet that addresses the risks and benefits of the influenza vaccine and many other vaccines.
