New US Department of State Travel Warning/Advisory Site
The U.S. Department of State has replaced their “Travel Warnings and Alerts” site with a simplified Travel Advisory for each country at Levels 1-4 standard designation:
- Level 1 – Exercise Normal Precautions
- Level 2 – Exercise Increased Caution
- Level 3 – Reconsider Travel
- Level 4 – Do Not Travel
Per the New U.S. Department of State Travel Warning/Advisory Site Summary provided by System-wide Risk Management, Level 3 requires the President’s approval and Level 4 requires additional approval of the Chancellor. Please keep in mind that, in addition to the State Department’s travel advisory, we will still use the CSURMA High Hazardous and War Risk Countries list to determine the required approval. That is, in situations where there is a conflict between the State Department’s Travel Advisory and the CSURMA list, whichever has the higher degree of caution would determine the approval.
In addition, if a country has multiple levels of travel advisories (e.g., Mexico is a Level 2 country overall, but has 5 states that have Level 4 designations), the highest travel advisory level would determine the approval needed for that travel.
The Summary will be available on the the Risk Management website; travelers are also free to contact our Risk Manager (Lisa Telles) x 2079 and Insurance Specialist (Cyndi Paull) x 6830 for any questions.

Though the characters may be familiar, each of your favorite storybook fables is uproariously derailed in this adaptation of Jon Scieszka and Lane Smith's quintessential children's book of fractured fairy tales. Everything from "Chicken Little" to "The Gingerbread Man" gets a complete makeover. Fun music and witty narration accompany the likes of ineloquent giants, sassy barnyard animals, colossal cow pies, and enough stinky cheese to go around. [playscripts.com]
