Grievance & Compliant Process:

  1. The term "Grievance refers to a specific allegation by a grievant that there has been a violation, misapplication, or misinterpretation of a specific term(s) of the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA). 

  2. If an employee’s issue covered under the CBA or CSU policy cannot be resolved with an employee’s immediate supervisor, a represented employee may contact their union representative and file a formal grievance.  The union representative will discuss the grievance with the Employee Relations unit in the Human Resources Office.

  3. The term "Complaint" refers to a specific stated allegation by a complainant that there has been a violation, misapplication, or misinterpretation of a specific CSU policy governing working conditions or CSU work rule.

An employee may contact the Office of Equity and Diversity to file a complaint.
