HR Certification
During 2014-2015, Human Resources exemplified support of employees in their professional growth and expertise by sponsoring three additional employees in securing their professional HR certificates.
Job Shadow Program
HR employees continued to demonstrate their commitment to their professional growth by participating in HR's Job Shadow Program(JSP). HR's JSP is a work experience opportunity where an employee learns about a functional area by “shadowing” a co-worker from another area. By observing work in another area, an employee gets to experience the work environment and the occupational/inter-personal skills practiced by their Shadow Coach.
Additionally, HR began to communicate the value of the program to other departments including the Library and Administration and Finance, to allow for employee skill development.
In 2014-2015, there have been 13 Job Shadows completed with Human Resources.
Internal Training
As part of its' Spring 2014 Staff Retreat, HR revisited its implementation of Strengthsfinder as development tool by conducting a follow up session facilitated by CSUN's Career Center. Based Performance guides managers to do employee performance reviews and create development plans based on your employee’s strengths.
