Benefits Wellness FairBenefits & Wellness Fair:

The benefits and wellness fair, held on September 16, 2014, was an interactive event that enabled employees to meet with over 25 vendors and health care providers, to obtain information, receive giveaways, and participate in various health screenings.

The event is a wonderful way to get ready for open enrollment and learn about the many on and off campus health and well-being resources available to faculty and staff.

LifeMatters@CSUN Employee Assistance Program (EAP)

Rosemary MartinIn August 2014 we introduced a new Employee Assistance Program (EAP) benefit, LifeMatters@CSUN. The program is designed to provide professional counseling services and access to online resources on topics such as health, relationships, financial and legal consultation, and many more valuable resources and tools for faculty, staff, their families and dependents.

If you have not had an opportunity to learn about this new benefit we invite you to visit LifeMatters@CSUN website to learn about all services available to you and your family/household members. This program provides a 24/7 care center line at 1-800-367-7474.

You can also access online resources directly at myLifeMatters.com (enter password: matadors).

Bio-Metric Health Screenings

Kaiser Mobile Health VehicleOn May 5, 2015 Kaiser Permanente's Mobile Health Vehicle visited our campus and provided complimentary Bio-Metric Health Screenings to faculty and staff. This screening was available to all employees, regardless of benefit provider.

Staff Service & Recognition of Excellence Awards

In June, 2015, Human Resources hosted the 49th Annual Staff Service Awards and Recognition of Excellence Event.  The event recognizes employees for years of service and excellence in performance.

The 2015 event celebrated employees who collectively contributed more than 4,900 years of service to the university.

Fee Waiver & Reduction Program

California State University, Northridge proudly promotes career and professional development for employees - particularly through the University’s Fee Waiver and Reduction Program. This program allows eligible employee members to “learn while they earn,” and attend classes at CSUN or other CSU campuses for greatly reduced rates. CSUN employees who want to complete a bachelor’s or graduate degree, enhance job skills, or even prepare for a future career, are encouraged to participate in this program.  

 More than 1,400 members of CSUN's current employees are "Home Grown" in that they have earned a degree from CSUN!  During the 2014-2015 Academic Year, more than 700 eligible staff, faculty, and management state employees took advantage of this program toward earning a degree.

New Employee Welcome Orientation

We are happy to have you join our CSUN team and wish you the very best as you begin your career here.

Open to all CSUN Staff and faculty members, the New Employee Welcome Orientation is held monthly.  NEWO gives employees access to information about CalPERS and other University benefits. Areas covered include the CSU system, employee benefits, Police Services, Student Recreation Center, Information Technology and much more.  In the 2014-15 an estimated 77 new employees attended NEWO.
