The Lennin H. Glass Scholarship
Scholar: Christopher Rogers
Year Awarded: 2016

Christopher Says: “Receiving this scholarship has helped to encourage me as I continue my education. Returning adult students often face numerous obstacles. As a full-time student with a family and three jobs, the monetary award I received from this scholarship has certainly been helpful However, it is the recognition of my hard work that has impacted me the most on a personal level. If I could, I would thank the late Dr. Glass and his wife, Rosalee, for recognizing these challenges as well as the potential of students who return to school later in life.”

He comes from a family with a clergy background and he was a minister for 13 years before he decided to pursue a career in public health. Receiving the scholarship really encouraged Christopher as he was continuing his education. He will begin the master of public health program this fall semester and his goal is to eventually earn a nursing degree so he can teach in emergency services education and conduct hospital research.
