Nicholas  Novosel III from our Credential Office will be presenting at the 2024 NACADA Annual Conference in October in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The topic will be “The War for K-12 Education - Who's Fighting, Who's Winning and What Can YOU Do to Help Stop It!”, and has been selected by the Education Majors Advising Community to be one of its sponsored sessions. We are pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Jamie Alea as the Credential Office Director in the Michael D. Eisner College of Education. Dr. Alea has been the Director of Student Transition Programs since 2022 and prior to that, the Director of the College of Science Advising Center from 2015-2022, both at California State University, San Jose. She previously held the position of Assistant Director of Student Services and Admissions and Credential Analyst at Santa Clara University. Read more

LAUSD Teachers Earn Reading & Literacy Certificates at CSUN

This past summer, as part of a Ballmer grant, 51 LAUSD primary grade teachers successfully earned a CSUN Reading & Literacy Certificate by taking 3 summer courses in the Elementary Education Department. The intense summer program included tutoring of 35 elementary school students from the community through the L.A. Times Literacy Center, one of the centers in the Teaching, Learning, and Counseling Consortium. Forty-two teachers will continue this fall and earn their CTC Reading & Literacy Added Authorization. We expect over 100 teachers to participate in the program next summer. Read more
