CSUN has one of the largest business law programs nationally, with 300 students. One of the first programs of its type, the department offers a wide range of elective courses along with the core courses required of the college's more than 6,000 undergraduate and graduate students and general education courses to the larger university community. The faculty have been consistently recognized for excellence in teaching.
All business law faculty members are attorneys and graduates of ABA accredited law schools. They have practical and scholarly expertise in diverse areas of law including business litigation and transactions, intellectual property, e-commerce, antitrust, real estate, labor and employment law, entertainment law, white-collar criminal law, insurance, international law, bankruptcy, ethics, alternative dispute resolution and disability law.
While their primary responsibility is to provide an intellectually stimulating and challenging class room environment, many of our faculty engage in scholarly research in their fields of interest, supervise clinical and internship projects, participate in law related professional organizations, advise students who are considering law school, teach and consult in programs nationally and internationally and serve the university and the large community.
All department faculty are available during scheduled office hours to advise students during the semester, with assigned department faculty available during registration periods. The faculty are also available to advise and counsel students who are interested in preparing for law school.
