I OLFACTORY sensory smell (olfaction)
II OPTIC sensory vision
III OCULOMOTOR motor rotates the eye inward toward the nose (adduction), moves the eye downward (depression), upward (elevation), rotates the eye upward and outward toward the temples (extorsion), also controls lifting of the eyelids, is responsible for the accommodation response, and parasympathetic constriction of the pupil
IV TROCHLEAR motor rotation of the eyes downward and inward toward the nose (intorsion)
V TRIGEMINAL mixed

motor:  movements of jaw and muscles of mastication 
sensory:   input from the head (skin of face and scalp), cornea of the eye, the teeth, and the dura mater 
VI ABDUCENS motor rotates the eye outward toward the temple (abduction)

motor: facial expression, salivation, secretion of tears, parasympathetic innervation of the cerebral vasculature
sensory: taste from anterior two-thirds of tongue, sensations from skin of the external ear canal
